The Association of Municipalities Terras do Infante promotes, on the 11th of May, in the Auditorium Paços do Concelho Séc. XXI – Lagos, its first Intermunicipal Education Forum.
The theme – Measures to Promote School Success – was agreed upon by the four School Groups (Aljezur, Vila do Bispo, Gil Eanes-Lagos and Júlio Dantas-Lagos) and the Education departments of the three municipalities.
Work begins at 9:30 am, with the opening in charge of the Mayor of Vila do Bispo Adelino Soares.
During the morning, communications will be presented on new approaches to the issues of reading, writing and mathematics: Project Idea, by Professor Dulce Gonçalves, from the University of Lisbon, and HYPATIAMAT Project, by Professor Ricardo Pinto, from the University of Minho.
The morning debate will be moderated by Joaquina Matos, Mayor of Lagos.
In the afternoon, communications will be presented by the directors of the Grouping Schools Gil Eanes, Aljezur, Vila do Bispo and Escolas Júlio Dantas, that is, by Paula Couto, Piedade Mattoso, Joaquim Azevedo and José Lopes, respectively.
Also in the afternoon, the Coordinator of the National Program for the Promotion of School Success, Professor José Verdasca, will present his lecture. The debate will be led by Cristina Madeira, from the Dr. Rui Grácio Training Center.
The closing of this XNUMXst Education Forum will be in charge of the President of the Chamber of Aljezur José Gonçalves.
The present Forum intends to «constitute itself as a way and means of more and better cooperation between the association and the Groupings, from an institutional point of view, but above all in close cooperation, providing the supply of “tools” necessary for the entire school community for what really counts: the academic success of our students, future decision makers of tomorrow».
The I Terras do Infante Intermunicipal Education Forum will be certified as a short-term Training Action for teachers, in accordance with order 574/2015 of 29/05.
