The period of public discussion of the proposed delimitation of the Urban Rehabilitation Area (ARU) of the Historical Center of the town of São Brás de Alportel and the respective systematic Urban Rehabilitation Operation, guided by a Strategic Urban Rehabilitation Program, starts this Friday Thursday, April 5th.
«This is another very important step in the implementation of the Revitalization Plan for the Historic Center of São Brás de Alportel», explains the City Council.
According to the municipality, «the implementation of the Operation of Urban Rehabilitation allows the continuation of the strategy of promoting the urban rehabilitation of São Brás de Alportel, through a fundamental instrument for safeguarding the heritage, qualification of the urban environment and ensuring the well-being of the communities'.
For this area, the municipality defined in the Action Plan for Urban Regeneration (PARU) the main pillars of local development and the actions considered structuring for Rehabilitation and Urban Regeneration that serve as a basis for applying for community funds and for granting support and tax benefits for building rehabilitation works.
"Since this operation involves the qualification of infrastructure, equipment, green and urban spaces for collective use, it has associated a public investment program and is framed by a Strategic Urban Rehabilitation Program (PERU), which is now under discussion public”, adds the City Council of São Brás de Alportel.
The main objectives of the plan are to ensure the rehabilitation of buildings, the urban fabric and its heritage; improve living conditions, functionality, safety and mobility; promote urban revitalization, requalification of green spaces, urban and equipment for collective use; the modernization of urban infrastructure; the promotion of cultural, social and economic sustainability and diversity; encourage the adoption of energy efficiency criteria; define the management and execution model and define the framework of support and inventions for rehabilitation and financing solutions.
On the 29th of March, within the scope of the conference cycle “From September to April, a thousand memories” a conference was held, at which the proposal for the delimitation of the Urban Rehabilitation Area of the Historic Center of the town and the respective Operation of Systematic Urban Rehabilitation, with the participation of the Architect Marta Santos, responsible for the Municipal Urban Rehabilitation Office and the territory planner, Pedro Ribeiro da Silva.
The public discussion process, published in Diário da República, ends on 7 May and can be consulted in the municipality website and in the Urban Planning, Planning and Spatial Planning Unit – Urban Planning Service of the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, on weekdays, from 9:00 am to 16:00 pm.
