Odemira promotes a guided tour of the biodiversity of Ribeira do Torgal

The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Odemira, under the Blue Flag 2019 program, in partnership with TAGIS

“Insetos em Ordem” (Insects in Order) will be the theme of the guided tour on the Biodiversity of Ribeira do Torgal, in the parish of S.Luís, municipality of Odemira, scheduled for March 30, from 10:00 am.

The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Odemira, under the Blue Flag 2019 program, in partnership with TAGIS – Center for the Conservation of Butterflies of Portugal.

The visit will be facilitated by Albano Soares and Rui Félix, researchers from TAGIS – Center for the Conservation of Butterflies in Portugal, who will discuss the existing Biodiversity of Ribeira do Torgal, one of the tributaries of the River Mira.

The meeting point is marked for a bridge over the Ribeira do Torgal, on Estrada Nacional 120. Enrollments must be made until the 28th of March, through the email [email protected].

Registration is limited to 25 participants.

"From the River to the Sea without Waste!" is the 2019 theme of the Blue Flag program, with the aim of raising awareness of the fact that marine litter originates from land-based activities, the consequences of human behavior and the role of rivers as a bridge between land and sea.
