Loulé hosts a concert with "world-renowned" conductor and soloist

Concert by the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra will be the culmination of a week dedicated to music, of which Osvaldo Ferreira is the special guest

The Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra (OFP), directed by conductor Tobbias Gossmann and accompanied by pianist Ingrid Fuzjko Hemming, will perform on Sunday, the 24th, at 17 pm, at the Cine-Teatro Louletano.

On stage will be a young orchestra, full of young talents, directed and accompanied by two “world-renowned” protagonists, stressed the Câmara de Loulé. Together, they will play works by Mozart (piano concerto no. 21 in C major, k 467) and Beethoven (symphony no. 4 in B flat major, op 60).

The concert will be the culmination of the theme week “Classic Music for All”, which began on Monday and has as a special guest conductor Osvaldo Ferreira, who helped found the OFP in 2016.

As anticipated by Osvaldo Ferreira, in an interview given to Sul Informação in January, this is a week with a “very intense” programme.

From the outset, because one of the objectives of the Cine-Teatro Louletano, promoter of the initiative, is «going to schools, motivating children, talking about education and the world of music». Thus, performative conversations were taken to the EB 2,3 schools in Loulé, led by the Portuguese conductor.

The program also includes an informal course called “Relaxed Conversations Around Classical Music”. “In the evening I will speak to the general public about art and music. On one of the nights, Ingrid Fuzjko Hemming, the pianist who will be the soloist in the weekend concert, will give a small recital, commented by me», said Osvaldo Ferreira.

“On Friday [today], I will bring a group of musicians to make a “White Letter with Osvaldo Ferreira”, in which we will play a game with music from the baroque to our days,” he added. Altogether, 11 guests will be Osvaldo Ferreira, in this intimate concert.

Tomorrow, Saturday, the conductor will give a teaching masterclass for ropes, «based on the new methodologies, especially the Suzuki method, which I brought to Portugal 20 years ago».
