Library of Faro celebrate reading week

Week has the motto "Today Reader, Tomorrow Reader"

A meeting with the writer Manuela Ribeiro, a gathering of the cycle “When Poetry Happens” and the screening of the French film “Wallay”. These are the initiatives with which the Municipal Library of Faro will mark, as of this Monday, March 11, Reading Week.

“Today Reader, Tomorrow Reader” is the motto for this week promoted by the National Reading Plan. Until Friday, the 15th, the Municipal Library of Faro joins this event, celebrating reading, the book and the reader.

Throughout the week, the activity of animation and promotion of reading “Growing with Nature” will be promoted for schools and kindergartens in the municipality. On Wednesday and Friday, the project “Ler Juntos” takes the Reading Club to primary schools.

Also noteworthy is the meeting with the writer Manuela Ribeiro, on Thursday, which will involve the municipality's 1st cycle and pre-school students, in two sessions at 9:00 am and 14:00 pm, and also the families, with a session at 18:00 pm , with free entry.

For the adult audience, celebrating the Library as a space for creative encounters, the cycle “When Poetry Happens” gathers for another gathering around words and various readings, on Wednesday at 17:30 pm.

Celebrating reading as an act of communication and dialogue between the arts, on the 15th, at 21 pm, the “French Film of the Month” can be watched. In this case, the film to be shown will be “Wallay”, by Berni Goldblat.

Promoting reading and a taste for books among families, every day at 18 pm there is “Story Time”, especially on Fridays, with “Stories on the lap”, for children from 00 to 0 years old accompanied by a adult, because “Today Reader, Tomorrow Reader”.
