He is the author of textbooks and paraschools, Fulbrighter and, recently, a researcher in the field of educational innovation.

Those who qualify for the final will participate in a science communication masterclass to better prepare. The winner of the national final FameLab Portugal 2019 will represent Portugal in the international final, which takes place at the Cheltenham Science Festival, in the United Kingdom, in June 2019.

In Portugal, this initiative is promoted by the British Council and Ciência Viva – National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture. In the Algarve, it is a partnership that includes the participation of the Live Science Centers of Lagos, Algarve and Tavira and the University of Algarve.

FameLab is the world's leading international science communication competition, in which each competitor has three minutes to demonstrate their ability to communicate the most diverse scientific topics, using mainly words and gestures, without the help of multimedia support. Competitors are judged on the content, clarity and charisma of their presentations.
