Zoomarine, Vilamoura Marina, Conrad Algarve and Farmhouse of the Palms were the winners in the Theme Park, Marina, Luxury Hotel and Rural Accommodation categories, respectively, in the Portugal Trade Awards 2019.
The competition awards, promoted by the Jornal Publituris, which aims to distinguish the best of the year in the tourism sector, were delivered this Thursday, March 21, at the Portugal Pavilion, in Lisbon, in a ceremony attended by Ana Mendes Godinho, Secretary of State for Tourism.
Zoomarine had competition from Aquashow Park Hotel, Badoca Safari Park, Dino Parque Lourinhã, Diverlanhoso, Lisbon Oceanarium and Lisbon Zoo in the race for the Theme Park award.
In the category of best Marina, Vilamoura competed for the place with Albufeira, Cascais, Lagos, Oeiras – Porto de Recreio and Portimão.
Conrad Algarve won in the Luxury Hotel category, ahead of hotels such as Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort, Belmond Reid's Palace, Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon, Hotel Infante Sagres Porto, The Cliff Bay and Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa.
In the race for the Rural Accommodation award, the winner Farmhouse of the Palms had competition from Cambeiros – Guest House, Colina dos Piscos, Fazenda Nova Country House, Herdade da Matinha, São Lourenço do Barrocal and TEIMA – Alentejo SW.
The Portugal Trade Awards are organized by the Jornal Publituris, sponsored by Novo Banco and Travelport and supported by Desafio Global, Eurologistix, Global Option, The Storytelling, Multislide, Green Media, Rituals, NoFork, Sumol Compal and Delifrance.
The winners were selected through a weighted average between the votes of the Journal's subscribers and the votes of the jury, which is composed of representatives of sector associations, former secretaries of State for Tourism, businessmen, professionals, consultants and journalists.
