An earthquake measuring 2.2 on the Richter scale and with an epicenter about 10 kilometers east-northeast of Arraiolos, in Alentejo, was felt at dawn this Tuesday, 12 February.

The shock was recorded at 00:20 at the stations of the Mainland Seismic Network.

“This earthquake, according to the information available so far, did not cause personal or material damage and was felt with maximum intensity II (modified Mercalli scale) in the Arraiolos region,” says the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere.
