São Brás wants to have a Therapeutic Space for Child Intervention

Câmara and ARS Algarve discussed the possibility of creating valence to support children in need of speech or occupational therapy or in need of monitoring in terms of mental health

The Municipality of São Brás de Alportel and the Regional Health Administration (ARS) of the Algarve are considering creating, in partnership, a Therapeutic Space for Child Intervention in the Health Center of this municipality.

The idea is to create a new valence that allows "supporting children in the county who lack early intervention services, particularly in terms of therapy and occupational therapy or in need of monitoring in terms of mental health", according to the municipality.

This new response in the area of children's therapies would "complement the work already developed and would open doors to new services".

The possibility of creating this Therapeutic space was analyzed during a visit by Paulo Morgado, president of ARS Algarve, to the ongoing works at the São Brás Health Center, which also result from a partnership between the municipality and ARS and in which the Chamber invested 25 thousand euros.

«The beginning of the preparation works for the new oral health office of the Health Center is expected shortly, with funding already guaranteed by the municipality, as a result of the Oral Health Protocol signed at the end of 2018, between the municipality, ARS Algarve and the Ministry of Health», added the City Council of São Brás de Alportel.
