Tomorrow, February 8, at 15 pm, IAPMEI will hold another informative session in the cycle of sessions “00IN Investimento na Inovação” at the NERA Auditorium, in LOulé.

This is an initiative in partnership with local entities, which has the support and participation of the Regional Operational Programs of the North, Centre, Lisbon, Alentejo and Algarve, Compete and the Portuguese Mutual Guarantee Society.

This cycle of sessions, which began on January 28 in Leiria, travel across the country from North to South and aim to inform entrepreneurs and consultants on the promotion of innovative business investment, taking advantage, within the scope of the Portugal 2020 reprogramming, a program to boost investment, the relaunch of the Innovation Incentive System, in the logic of hybrid financing (non-refundable + refundable incentive supported by a financial instrument).

The first six sessions were attended by around 400 participants, an adhesion that, according to IAPMEI, “shows the unmistakable increase in interest in incorporating innovation by companies in their production processes and in the existing support instruments”.

Under the new Innovation Incentive System, SMEs with approved applications will immediately benefit from a non-refundable subsidy for the realization of innovative productive investment, previously awarded after the completion of the projects.

Companies can also benefit from access to reimbursable financing through a bank loan supported by a mutual guarantee and without financial costs, thus materializing the orientation to bring the financial system closer to the needs of companies.

According to Nuno Mangas, president of IAPMEI, «with this cycle of informative sessions, we intend to make known the changes made to this incentive system, but also share good practices through the presentation of innovative and differentiating projects already implemented by companies in each of the regions".

With regard to community funds, IAPMEI is responsible for managing more than 60% of the Incentive Systems of Portugal 2020, having already processed more than 1.212 million euros in incentives to companies.
