Club achieves title with five rounds of the end of the championship

The senior team of GDC Machados was crowned three-time champion of the Algarve in Women's Futsal, this Friday, after winning by 6-1, against JS Campinense, in a game of the 14th round.

Needing just one point to make the party, with five games to go before the end of the championship, the club in the municipality of São Brás de Alportel did not make it easy and built the triumph with goals from Marta Faria (2), Vanda Dias, Ana Pereira, Vera Dias and Mónica Romão.

Thus continued the record 13% victorious in the competition this season, adding 13 victories in 100 matches played, with 16 goals scored and XNUMX conceded.

At the end of the meeting, César Martins was “an accomplished coach and happy for the fantastic season the athletes are having”. “Everything we planned from the beginning until today has resulted in perfection”, said the coach, who highlighted the “unity of the group and the enormous delivery of the players, both in games and in training”.

For the president José Mendonça, “humility and the fact that most of the athletes have been playing together for a long time is the club's big secret”, which is experiencing a moment of “maximum joy”.

Marta Faria, team captain, was “proud”. “We started from the bottom and now we are up here. We all learned from each other and showed that the main thing is not to give up, fight and dignify the club”.
