The female cycling team 5 Quinas/Municipality of Albufeira was crowned this Sunday in Juniors Women, with Daniela Campos, who won the Elimination and Race for Points, and also in Master 30 Women, with Orieta Oliveira (Scratch) .
The National Track Championship took place this Saturday and Sunday, at the Velódromo Nacional, in Sangalhos, Anadia.
Ivo Oliveira (UAE Team Emirates) and Maria Martins (Sopela Women's Team) were the most awarded elite runners in the National Track Championship.
The WorldTour runner from Gaia has established himself in the disciplines of individual pursuit and point racing.
In the first, played this Sunday, the main opponent was the teammate João Matias (Vito-Fairense-PNB), who was trying to maintain the champion status.
Ivo Oliveira, however, pushed for the ranks of world and European runners-up to set the best time in qualifying and to double his opponent in the final. Miguel do Rego (CM Aubervilliers) closed the podium.
In the race for points Ivo Oliveira had César Martingil (Sporting-Tavira) as the toughest rival to win, but he won the title. João Matias was ranked third.
In the other discipline with the participation of the male elite, scratch, Miguel do Rego prevailed, in front of César Martingil and João Matias, second and third, respectively.
Among the female elite, Maria Martins' superiority was notorious. The Ribatejo runner became the national champion in scratch, elimination and race for points. Soraia Silva was runner-up in all three races.
In scratch, Melissa Maia (CE Gonçalves / Azeitonense) was third, place occupied by Joana Ferreira (RSG Hannover) in elimination and by Liliana Jesus (CE Gonçalves / Azeitonense) in the race for points.
The most fruitful teams in the youth teams were the Minho Seissa/KTM Bikeseven/Matias & Araújo/Frulact), with five titles, and Bairrada, with three victories.
This National Championship, with more than 180 entries, revealed the growth and vitality of the track side, which also brought together many fans, who colored the stands during many periods of this weekend.
The initial phase of the Portuguese track season ends next Saturday, with the competition for the SUNLIVE Trophy, the last race of the Portuguese Cup.
