Vila do Bispo returns to BOOT Düsseldorf

The Chamber and several companies from Vila do Bispo are once again present at the largest international fair dedicated to the nautical world

Vila do Bispo will once again be shown at the BOOT Düsseldorf – Germany fair, the largest international fair dedicated to the nautical world, which starts on Saturday and lasts until the 27th of January.

The Vila do Bispo Chamber launched, once again, the challenge to companies with activities related to the sea based in the municipality, to promote their products and services at this fair.

«Like in previous editions, the promotion of the municipality involves the joint dissemination of the heritage and environmental values ​​of our cultural and natural landscapes, valuing them, in a sustainable way, as tourist potentials of global reference», according to the Vila do Bispo Chamber.

In the 2019 edition, the municipality of Vila do Bispo will be represented by the municipality and by the companies PuraVida Divehouse, Wind4All – Sagres WaterSports, Divers Cape, Summer Inspired and Ocean Respect Ecodive Center.

As is traditional, the delegation will also include bodyboarder Joana Schenker, an athlete from the Sagres Bodyboarding Association, who is born in Vila do Bispo, but has German ancestry. The young Algarvian was already world champion in this sport and also has four European and five national championships in her curriculum.

Vila do Bispo representatives at BOOT Düsseldorf carry many products and services in their luggage.

«Among other tourist potential, diving in submerged landscapes, to observe the rich biodiversity of Sagres, its caves and its historical shipwrecks, boat trips to observe cetaceans, other marine species and incredible landscapes stand out. from Sagres and Cabo de São Vicente, birdwatching, on land and at sea; nautical sports such as surfing, bodyboarding, windsurfing and stand up paddle», according to the municipality.

Also highlighted will be “walking tours and major routes, Vicentina and Algarviana, historical cross-border routes (European Route of the Discoveries, Al-Mutamid Route and Umayyad Route), small internal routes and urban circuits dedicated to themes such as history local, megalithism and biodiversity, natural and cultural, geological, archaeological and historical monuments, ethnography, gastronomy, the culture of people from land and sea».
