«Project wealth» is awarded national distinction to the Loulé Music Conservatory

Conservatory opened recently, but is already receiving recognition

«The wealth of project» of the Conservatory of Music of Loulé Francisco Rosado earned him a distinction in the contest “Livres e Equals: Schools for Human Rights”, promoted by the National Agency for Qualification and Professional Education.

This distinction was unanimously awarded by the competition's jury, chaired by Vital Moreira, university professor and former MEP.

heard by Sul Informação, Dália Paulo, municipal director of Loulé, said that this was «the recognition of the work of a few months».

“They liked the project, even though the Conservatory only opened in September. I have to congratulate all the teachers and students», he said.

Although this is just a distinction – the big winner of the competition was the Marinha Grande-Nascente Schools Group, with the project “World Cultures at Our School -, Dália Paulo insisted on highlighting the fact that the Conservatory, «in so much in a short time, already have positive results and that this is recognized».

In second and third place in the competition were, respectively, the projects developed by the Professional School of Salvaterra de Magos (“EPSM: A School for All for All”) and by the Templar Schools Group of Tomar (“From Monarchy to Democracy: Human Rights – Yes or No?”). 

This competition was launched in September, as part of the commemorations of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 40th anniversary of Portugal's accession to the Eur Conventionadvocates Human Rights and sought to distinguish and recognize school projects that, through their teaching and education practices, promote respect for the rights and freedoms contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Opened in September of last year, by Prime Minister António Costa, the Francisco Rosado Music Conservatory, located in the former Solar da Música Nova, is the first public school for music education in the south of Lisbon.

The Conservatory currently has 275 students and 26 teachers.
