15 Municipal Firefighters of Olhão were promoted by the City Council to the 2nd Category of the municipal firefighter career, in a ceremony that took place today at the Municipality's Salão Nobre.
In this way, the Olhão corporation now has "graduates to head up all relief operations, thus implying greater efficiency and legitimacy in the quality of protection and relief for the populations and the public interest", framed the Chamber of Olhão .
«Given the possibility now conferred by the legislation, it was possible to fulfill all the necessary requirements to complete the promotion processes, as well as the respective specific courses», explained the mayor of Olhão António Pina.
"These promotions allow us to value the remarkable and prestigious activity of professional firefighter," added the mayor.
According to the Chamber of Olhão, the process now completed was a long-standing desire of the Fire Department, Command and Municipality, "since since 2007, the last opportunity for promotions has not occurred, due to the freeze on career progressions in force in recent years ».
