Municipal Museum of Faro exposes “The Almost Nothing” by Christine Henry

This is the third exhibition of the cycle “A Arte Faz Bem?”

The sculpture exhibition “O Almost Nothing”, by artist Christine Henry, will be on display at the Municipal Museum of Faro from January 12th to February 24th.

The exhibition is promoted by the gallery from Farense Artadentro, in collaboration with the Municipal Museum and the Câmara de Faro, and is part of the contemporary art cycle “A Arte Faz Bem?”, an initiative «that seeks to contribute to the dynamism of artistic activity in the Algarve, as well as to the creation and training of audiences», according to its promoters.

In this, which is the 3rd proposal of the cycle, works by Christine Henry, an artist born in Porto and of French origin, based in Loulé since 1981, where she lives and works, are exhibited.

«Christine Henry is an artist whose work makes use of various plastic disciplines, although photography and sculpture are the means she uses the most. His works have as a starting point pre-existing objects, whose formal characteristics and/or function, meet his own reflections on issues such as identity, place, time, emptiness and/or absence», describes Artadentro.

«In this project, “almost nothing” can also be “almost everything”, as if posing a problem of scale to the ontological question of human nature: the drive to transcend its condition (elevation), the human suffers the force of gravity (fall), which inexorably sends him back to his natural condition as an animal», added the promoters of the exhibition.
