Mértola lives days of “Non Stop Art”

Frankie Chavez concert is part of the program

Painting, music, dance and cinema are part of the event “Arte Non Stop” which takes place from 1st to 16th February, in Mértola. 

On the 1st, anniversary of Casa das Artes Mário Elias, in Mértola, another edition of Arte Non Stop begins, dedicated to the life and work of its patron. Until February 16th, art takes place in Mértola in its different languages: painting, drawing, music, dance, cinema and also in conversation.

The exhibition “The informality of drawing – art on the plate and the plate on art”, which will be open to the public from February 1st to 23rd, at Casa das Artes Mário Elias, is the first initiative of this year's edition of Arte Non Stop . On the 2nd of February, at the Cine-teatro Marque Duque, a concert with Frankie Chavez takes place and on the 15th, the group “Andrage” takes to the same stage.

As Non Stop Art is an event to promote the arts in a context of periphery and interiority, the program includes, on February 11th, in the Sacred Art nucleus of the Museum of Mértola, a conference whose theme is Art and Periphery.

According to the Chamber of Mértola, «the intention is with a group of specialists to reflect on the constraints, artistic identities and inspirational contexts of peripheral places, such as the case of the municipality of Mértola».

The program for the 2019 edition of Arte Non Stop also includes art workshops dedicated to theater and modelling, art açorda, the À Noite no Mercado initiative, the “Art as therapy” gathering, and Café conversations with Hugo Beja.
