The play “Elastic”, staged by the Algarve artist João de Brito, has a session scheduled for the next February 5th, at 21 pm, at the Cine-Teatro Louletano, in Loulé.
This will be the premiere, in the south of the country, of the new piece that is a co-production LAMA (Laboratório de Artes e Media do Algarve), Cine-Teatro Louletano and Espaço do Tempo, being a project supported by the cultural program 365Algarve.
“Elastic” tells us about the geographical contrasts of the Portuguese territory and the influence of this issue on the construction of identities, taking as its starting point the story of four young people and the places where they grew up.
"Is friendship able to survive the change?" is the issue around which this theater play unfolds, in which Inês Monstro, Diogo Valsassina, Luís Simões and Jorge Albuquerque are the actors that make up the cast.
In fact, according to the director, the motto is the following: «ten years have passed. Four friends meet. The boat is the same, the instruments and the music too, but there is something different. Relationships changed, conversations turned into disputes, feelings became bitter. In an attempt to go back to the past, the friends are confronted with a reality they no longer know. Between stories wrapped in music, poetic laughter and absurd discussions, it becomes more and more obvious what each one has become».
With an estimated duration of 60 minutes, two presentations are also scheduled for schools in the municipality, the first on February 5th, at 14:00, and the second on the 6th, at 10:00 am.
Aimed at a public over the age of 12, the organization provides free admission for the school community and the sale of tickets for the general public at a cost of 5 euros (on the 5th at 21:30). Tickets can be purchased. here
