The Municipality of Aljezur approved the financial support of 220 thousand euros for the parishes of the municipality: Aljezur, Bordeira, Rogil and Odeceixe.
According to the Municipality of Aljezur, the «proposal presented is a strategic will of the parishes to respond to the needs of their customers. The proposal was approved by a majority, with votes in favor of the PS, abstention by the CDU and the vote against by the councilor of the “Juntos por Aljezur” Coalition».
In addition to financial support, the City Council maintains a set of delegation of powers and execution agreements in various domains, with the respective financial packages and other means being made available.
"Given the demographic, territorial, social and economic reality of the parishes of the Municipality, they do not generate their own revenue, which allow for sufficient funds to be added to the transfers from the General State Budget, in order to promote and safeguard the interests of their populations, namely in the direct support to the local communities», accuses the Aljezurense autarchy.
Noteworthy for the Aljezur Council is the construction of a warehouse, as well as the constitution of a Local Civil Protection Unit, which includes expenses for the purchase of fire-fighting equipment, insurance, training and awareness-raising activities for the population. Also support for various animation initiatives throughout the year.
For Rogil, the priority is the construction of a new building for the council, «thus creating better working conditions and conditions to receive customers, and also support for various animation initiatives throughout the year».
For the Junta de Bordeira, among others, it is worth mentioning the acquisition of an all-terrain vehicle, the completion of the Miradouro, as well as an entertainment program, the installation of a tourist information office in Carrapateira and the arrangement of various locations and landscaping in various spaces in the Parish.
The Parish of Odeceixe will carry out a vast program of entertainment, summer, Christmas and New Year, the creation of an interpretation center at Moinho de Odeceixe, the improvement of rural toponymy and also develop the project for a warehouse for the parish council.
