Ornatos Violeta are the first band confirmed for the 5th edition of Festival F, from Faro, which takes place from September 5th to 7th, 2019.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of “The Monster Needs Friends”, Ornatos Violeta decided to treat the public, from North to South of the country, with a short return to concerts, for the integral interpretation of this work, in three major festivals: the first, in Lisbon, at NOS Alive, the second, in Gaia, at MEO Marés Vivas and the third and last, at Faro, at Festival F.
Published on November 22, 1999, “O Monstro Needs Friends”, the second and last album of originals by Ornatos Violeta, surpassed the expectations created by the debut album, “Cão!”, and confirmed the talent of Manel Cruz (voice). ), Nuno Prata (bass), Peixe (guitar), Kinörm (drums) and Elísio Donas (keyboards).
This is the case of “Capitão Romance” — featuring special guest Gordon Gano, from Violent Femmes, one of the greatest references of Ornatos Violeta, singing in Portuguese —, ”Chaga”, “Dia Mau” or “Ouvi Dizer” — with the special participation of Vítor Espadinha.
As for the F, it broke "the attendance record" in the last edition, receiving close to 50 thousand people who, for three days, "became Faro in the capital of Portuguese music, claiming it as the last great summer festival».
