The Municipality and Municipal Assembly of Mértola approved, by majority, the Great Options of the Plan and Budget for 2019, in the amount of 19,7 million euros.
The budget “records an increase of one million euros, compared to the previous year”, says the Mértola City Council.
The Plan's Major Options for 2019 include financial contributions for interventions that have already started and are nearing completion, namely the Lar de S. Miguel do Pinheiro, the Multipurpose Pavilion in Mértola, the rehabilitation of Casa Cor de Rosa and the sanitation of Alcaria Longa.
In 2019, the City Council will start a new cycle of projects, such as the CAO - Occupational Activities Center for people with disabilities, the sanitation of Alves and Picoitos, the Baixo Guadiana Biodiversity Museum, the recovery of the the Mina de S. Domingos Cine-theatre building, the works of the municipal archive and the Mértola Museum reserves, the redevelopment of Municipal Road 509, between S. João dos Caldeireiros and Vale de Açor, and the Mértola Biological Station.
«The areas of security and social action, housing and collective services, transport and communications, commerce and tourism have a budget allocation that amounts to 70% of municipal investment», concludes the municipality.
