Maria do Vale Cartaxo presented “On the Ascending Train” at the Portimão Library

Full room at the Municipal Library of Portimão to watch the release of the author's seventh book

«On the Ascending Train – Contos e Contas Pendentes», the new book by the writer Maria do Vale Cartaxo, was presented last Friday, the 30th, at the Municipal Library of Portimão.

Fernando Mão-de-Ferro, the editor of Colibri, Elisabete Rodrigues, director of Sul Informação, José Gameiro, scientific director of the Portimão Museum, Isilda Gomes, president of the Portimão Chamber and even the author herself spoke a little about this book, which includes eight short stories and a novel.

"Irreverence", "irony", "fun", "filigree and cinematographic writing", "theatrical structure", Xerazade and even Eça de Queirós were words used by the two guests (Elisabete Rodrigues and José Gameiro) to present and describe the new work.

This is the seventh book of writer born in Portimão, after «The Journey» (2000), «The Legacy of Mrs. Baker» (2003), «Three logbooks on a shipwreck route» (2003), «The seventh day» (2006), «The day not » (2008) and «I used to be from here» (2017).

According to Colibri, responsible for publishing the work, «On the Ascending Train» will be on sale, maybe even this week, at Elifalma and at Bertrand de Portimão, as well as at the Colibri Editions website.
