The 12th edition of the Mushroom and Medronho Fair, which will highlight the mountain's resources, takes place in the village of São Barnabé (Almodôvar), on the weekend of November 24th and 25th.
The main objective of the Mushroom and Medronho Fair is to enhance the endogenous resources of the Serra do Caldeirão.
Highlighted at the event will be the various aspects related to the great wealth of typical products in this area of the municipality of Almodôvar.
This edition will also give special emphasis, under the theme "Resources of the Mountain", to hunting activity, since hunting is also one of the strengths of the parish of São Barnabé and of the municipality of Almodôvar.
For Saturday, November 24th, the opening of the event is scheduled for 10am.
The fair features an exhibition and tasting of local products, taverns, performance of showcookings, lots of music and entertainment and a children's space, among various activities for all generations.
The XII Mushroom and Medronho Fair is promoted by the Municipality of Almodôvar, the Parish Council of São Barnabé and A Medronheira – Association for the Defense of the Heritage of São Barnabé and has the support of the Regional Tourism Entity of Alentejo and Ribatejo, Institute of Employment and Professional Training, PROVERE Program – Valorization of the Wild Resources of the Alentejo and with the co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), in the Scope of Portugal 2020 and Alentejo 2020.
