A 21-year-old young man, suspected of having killed a 29-year-old woman in Quarteira, was arrested by the Southern Directorate of the Judiciary Police this Monday.
The woman, Tatiana Mestre was found dead, partially charred, on the 27th of August, inside a car, in a desolate place, near the city of Quarteira. The victim, from Vale Judeu, had been reported missing two days earlier.
According to the PJ, the victim "was assaulted, tied, gagged and killed, the corpse having been partially charred", due to a fire set by the suspect.
The detainee who, second the Jornal de Notícias, was known to the victim, is unemployed and has a criminal record for violent crimes.
The suspect will now be present for judicial interrogation for the application of coercive measures.
