São Brás challenges children to draw to save water

The drawing contest “Save water! Drop by drop we can save the future!” is aimed at 1st cycle students in the municipality.

Children from elementary schools in the municipality of São Brás de Alportel are being challenged by the City Council to give free rein to their imagination and participate in the “Save water! Drop by drop we can save the future!”.

This competition, aimed at classes, who can each submit a drawing, aims to «raise awareness of the importance of saving water and its conscientious and efficient use, from an early age», according to the City of São Brás. The drawings must be delivered by the 31st of October.

The winning class will visit the Oceanário de Lisboa, as a prize, in addition to seeing their drawing published on the municipality's website and Facebook and in the monthly schedule “São Brás happens”. All participating students will receive a telescopic glass with messages alluding to the competition and saving water.

The initiative, coordinated by the City Council's Environment and Urban Services Unit, is part of the project “Promotion of the Efficient Use of Water for the population residing in the municipality of São Brás de Alportel”, which has funding from the Environmental Fund and is developed within the scope of of the Municipal Water Saving Plan.
