The PS of Monchique criticized, in a statement, the financial management of the Municipality of Monchique, after the knowledge of thes results of the 2017 Financial Yearbook of Portuguese Municipalities, published by the OCC – Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificates.
According to the socialists, Monchique “stands out negatively”, being in the 268th place at the national level (in a universe of 308 municipalities) and in the 13th place at the regional level.
Socialists also point out that the mountain municipality is "the 40th worst municipality nationally, with lower economic results (-1.490.691€)".
The PS/Monchique recalls that the socialists “did not vote on the 2017 management report and accounts, due to the absence of a statutory auditor's opinion, cost accounting and inventory of the municipality's assets, and the Municipal Assembly did not approve the said report and the 2017 accounts».
