The show “Vestra Fashion”, commissioned byhe Azul – Algarve Theater Network, premieres this Saturday, 6th October, at 21 pm, at the Cine-Teatro Louletano, in Loulé.
The underlying objective was to encourage and enhance contemporary creation with Algarve protagonists, making the show circulate throughout the region.
The collective of Algarve artists João Frade (accordionist), Sickonce (electronic music producer) and Ana Perfeito (visual artist) came together to explore the ambiguity between the traditional, the past, the current time and visions of the future of the Algarve, all from a contemporary perspective.
«The fusion of different styles and media visualizes the delivery of a single but open identity. A “vestra” delivery intended to be completed by the audience. From this principle comes the origin of the name “Moda Vestra”: “current” and “traditional song” fashion; Vestra from the Latin “teu/tua”», says the Chamber of Loulé.
“Moda Vestra” is a “surprising and innovative show that opens up new creative horizons”, with 11 presentations scheduled between October this year and March 2019 in the various rooms of Rede Azul co-producers.
The following members of Rede Azul – Network of Theaters of the Algarve are part of this project: the Municipalities of Loulé, Faro, Albufeira, Castro Marim, Lagoa, Lagos, Olhão, Portimão, São Brás de Alportel, Silves and Tavira.
This project is supported by Mito Algarvio – Association of Accordion Players of the Algarve, with the company ProActiveTur, Lda. – Projecto TASA being a partner in the tourism sector, in addition to the “365 Algarve” program and the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.
Tickets are priced at 5 euros and the show lasts approximately 75 minutes for people over 12 years of age, with free entry, subject to room availability, for young people aged 18 or over. 18 years old this year within the scope of the “És Cultura 18!” project.
