Cátia Pinheiro presents sound paths in Loulé and Lagos

Initiatives are part of the preparation of the next edition of the Summer Blue Festival

The artist Cátia Pinheiro collected, through sounds, the daily life of Loulé and Lagos and will present today, October 18th, and next Tuesday, the 23rd, the result of this work. 

In Loulé, the presentation will take place today, at 18:30 pm, at the Convento do Espírito Santo, in Loulé.

The artist adapted her project “The Walk #2” to the city, a sound path that uses the city and small fictions taken from Loulé “to try to lead us on a unique and personal journey through the individual perspective of each spectator”, she says. the Chamber of Loulé. 

This artist did the same in Lagos and will also present what she collected in that city. It will be on Tuesday, October 23, at 18:30 pm, at Galeria LAR.

Also in preparation for the Summer Blue Festival, which takes place only in 2019 in Loulé and Faro, there will be two moments open to the public, at the Shock Lab Laboratories. 

Next Saturday, October 20th, at 15 pm, 00 pm and 17 pm, several performances will be presented at the Convento do Espírito Santo, in Loulé, as part of the Verão Azul Shock Lab, a laboratory on creative practices in peripheral contexts.

Participating in this laboratory and in the performances will be: Alexandre Valinho (Coimbra), Ana Galvão (Almada), Ana Sofia Peixoto (Braga), Annabelle Pirlot (Paris), Bruno Caracol (Lisbon), Catarina Bota Leal (Coimbra), Gabriela Pas (Lisbon) , Mauro Amaral (Faro), Miguel Alexandre de Oliveira (Tavira), the duo Diana Bernedo&MiguelMartins Pessoa (Faro), Paulina Szczesna (Poland), Sofia Guerreiro (Faro), Valentina Parravici (Lisbon) and Vasco Célio (Loulé), artists who responded to the public call that the CasaBranca collective, organizer of the Summer Azul Festival, carried out.

During four days (from 19th to 22nd October), two of which in Loulé, (19th and 20th October) the 15 selected artists from the areas of music, poetry, visual arts, visual arts, performances, dance, cinema, theater and physical theater, photography and design propose to put in your body (effective or symbolic) the meaning of the term periphery.

«Verão Azul Shock Lab is, in fact, just that: a laboratory that explores creative practices in peripheral contexts with the provocative mediation of three artists: Mónica Calle (theatre), Gustavo Ciríaco (dance) and Xana (visual arts), thus promoting a meeting between people from various artistic and geographical contexts», says Câmara de Loulé.

On the 21st, the initiative goes to Faro, where the participants will be welcomed by Teatro das Figuras in more challenges and provocations to the practices and the proposed theme.

On that day, everyone will participate in a performative conversation over a table to talk about the limitations and possibilities they find in the development of their work. 

The Verão Azul Shock Lab project is a casaBranca production, in co-production with Cine-Teatro Louletano and Teatro das Figuras (Faro) which has the support of the Municipality of Lagos, LAC – Creative Activities Laboratory.
