Parish Union of Faro launches campaign against dog poop in the street

Each person who registers the dog, or renews the license, receives a bag dispenser.

The Parish Union of Faro launched, this Thursday, 14 September, an awareness campaign to reduce the amount of dog poop in the city.

Now, every guardian who registers his dog or asks for the renewal of his annual license in the União das Freguesias de Faro, you receive as a souvenir a bag dispenser that can be placed on your pet's collar or leash and so accompany it everywhere and be ready for any surprise.

The poop of pets "harms the hygiene of public places and can cause serious illnesses, constituting a real danger to public health", says União de Freguesias.

“The general population, and especially children when they play in public spaces, are subject to diseases transmitted by dogs. Animals, human beings and nature can and must live in harmony, but always respecting the space that belongs to everyone – the street».
