The eight best students from the municipality of São Brás de Alportel in the 2017/2018 school year are visiting Paris, capital of France, until Saturday, 8 September, as a prize for the results achieved.
Last Monday, September 3rd, the students were congratulated for their commitment and for the good results obtained, in another edition of the award of the Best Students of the Municipality Award.
Guilherme Martins, Rodrigo Cabrita Martins and Luís Evrard were the best final year students in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education. Diana Venda, Joana Pato Pereira and João Pedro Rodrigues Ferreira were the students awarded as finalists in the 3rd cycle of secondary education. David Dias Neves Ferreira and Ricardo Alexandre Henrique Madeira obtained the best classifications among the final year students in secondary education.
At a ceremony held in the Main Hall of the City Council, the students received words of recognition from Vítor Guerreiro, president of the City Council of São Brás.
“These young people are to be congratulated for their commitment and for the good results they achieved in another school year. Results that are the result of their efforts but also of the support of the families, to whom we are very grateful, and the commitment of the teachers and the entire school community», he said.
Nídia Amaro, director of the José Belchior Viegas Group, took the opportunity to emphasize that the group's educational project goes beyond the school programmatic aspect and also seeks to encourage the complete personal, social and civic growth of each student.
«Having education as a priority area for the development of the entire community, the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel annually distinguishes and awards the best students in the municipality with a trip, in an initiative aimed at recognizing the academic performance of these students, but also the incentive aimed at all students in the municipality, seeking to encourage their study habits», concludes the municipality.
