Current users of the former campsite at Praia de Faro they'll even have to get out of space. The Chamber of Faro approved the termination of the lending contract that it had with the Association of Users and Friends of the Praia de Camping Park Faro (AUAPCPF), which will take effect from September 15, 2019, that is, within about a year.
The proposal presented by the president of the Chamber of Faro Rogério Bacalhau was approved this Monday «unanimously» and the executive wasted no time. Also yesterday, the tender «to choose the company that will carry out the construction of a campsite in Praia de Faro, estimating that the referred competition will take a year to be concluded and work begins», announced the municipality of Faro.
This decision ended with a lending agreement that had lasted since 2010, which granted the users association the exclusive use of this space, which had ceased to function as a campsite in 2003.
«The unanimous approval of the councilors of the proposal of the Mayor of the City Council is of capital importance and meets the wishes of the population, which has long been in favor of recovering this space for public use, with free access and managed as an enterprise within of the legally required standards for equipment of this nature", considered the Chamber of Faro.
Following the announcement made by the Chamber of Faro, in June, that he intended to terminate the contract and refurbish the old campsite, returning it to its original function, the user commission he said he had doubts about the City Council's intentions to requalify that space and contested the idea of rotation defended by the municipal executive.
