Elderly wounded in Alferce has "favorable prognosis"

The elderly woman was injured when her house burned, near the village of Alferce, and was taken by helicopter to Lisbon

The 72-year-old woman, who lived at the gates of Alferce village, in the Serra de Monchique, and who suffered injuries in the fire yesterday, is hospitalized in the São José Hospital burn unit, with "favorable prognosis", said the Regional Administration of Lisbon and Tagus Valley.

The old woman was burned when the fire reached her house and was eventually transported by helicopter to Lisbon.

This is the most serious victim among the 24 people injured yesterday, mainly due to smoke inhalation. One of the least severely injured people remains under observation in the emergency room of the Hospital de Portimão, announced the Regional Health Administration of the Algarve. The remaining wounded were discharged after being assisted.
