A person, injured by the fire in Monchique, remains under observation in the emergency room of the Hospital de Portimão, the Regional Health Administration (ARS) of the Algarve has just announced.

Meanwhile, ARS do Algarve made available «a team of health professionals from the Monchique Health Center to assist people who are at the EB 2,3 School in Monchique».

That entity has also made available to INEM the facilities of the Health Center of Monchique, so that the teams "can provide support to the operational who are in the field, affected by fatigue, dehydration, smoke inhalation".

On the other hand, CHUA provided a community mental health team to articulate support to the population in case of need.

In a statement, the ARS also expresses “its solidarity with the population affected by the fire and a word of thanks and acknowledgment for the courage and effort of all civil protection and armed forces operatives who have been fighting for the safety of all. population affected by fire”.

In this context, the ARS Algarve also alerts the population to avoid smoke inhalation, as well as exposure to heat.
