Faro returns to devote the fair to regional and convent sweets

At the fair, in addition to traditional sweets, regional drinks and liquors can be found

The Regional and Conventual Sweets Fair returns to Jardim Manuel Bívar, in Faro, on Friday, the 17th, and will sweeten the palate for residents and visitors until the 26th of August.

This event, one of the oldest in the city – is now in its 32nd edition -, aims to “promote and publicize traditional Portuguese sweets, enhance conventual and palatial sweets as well as the knowledge and flavors characteristic of the different regions of Portugal, without forgetting the drinks and regional liquors», according to Bruno Lage, president of the União de Freguesias de Faro, who organizes the fair.

This year “some changes in organizational terms” will be introduced and there will be “a marked reinforcement of the regional confectionery pavilions, but without losing their identity”.

At this fair it will also be possible to watch the daily Folk showsfaro and, in addition to candy and beverage stands, there will be a Bar/Restaurant under concession to Futebol Clube de São Luís.

The event will be open to the public every day from 18 pm to midnight and admission is free.
