World Superbike teams are already in the Algarve for pre-race testing

Official teams came earlier to the region and will stay here until the World Cup

The World Superbike teams are already at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve for the final tests before returning to the races, scheduled for the Algarve circuit, on the weekend of 15 and 16 September.

After about two months of interruption in the championship, the riders of what will be the biggest motorcycling event taking place this year in Portugal, returned to work and chose the AIA for the final preparations before the next race.

All official teams moved to the Algarve earlier, to conduct private training at the Algarve International Autodrome, remaining in the region until the race.

From the Red Bull Honda Superbike team, which chose to start their preparation on the track, days before the official tests, to the Yamaha or even Kawasaki team, many are the teams that use the south of the country to prepare their performance, on this return to the Algarve track.

Taking advantage of all the complex's features was Eugene Laverty, from Milwaukee Aprilia, who took advantage of his visit to Portimão to also train on the new off-road and dirt-track.

On the second and final day of the official tests of the World Superbike Championship, which took place on the 23rd and 24th of August, Jonathan Rea, the championship leader, performed the best lap, shortly after half an hour, when he lapped in 1m41sec192s, thus establishing a new track record on the Algarve circuit.

The closest was Alex Lowes (Yamaha), but already at a distance of 0,948s, followed by colleague Michael van der Mark.

Ducati from Aruba.it followed, with Marco Melandri in fourth, who led the day before, and Chaz Davies, in fifth.

Barni Racing Team driver Xavi Forés secured sixth time, 1,517s off the first place.

Lorenzo Savadori was seventh for Milwaukee Aprilia, while Honda rider Leon Camier took eighth place. The top 10 was closed by Jordi Torres (MV Agusta) and Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Aruba.it Junior Team Ducati).
