Portuguese doors “open” in Sardinha de Papel

Polish photographer based in Faro exhibits photographs taken from North to South of the country

The photographic exhibition Portas Portuguesas, by Martyna Mazurek, will be inaugurated this Friday, July 20, at 21 pm, at the Sardinha de Papel association, in Faro.

The exhibition «shows images captured over the last six years in Portugal, from the North to the South of the country, documenting the specificities of each city, each region, of an architectural element that is the “face” of any house: the door» , explains the Paper Sardine.

The opening of the exhibition will be accompanied by music, with DJ Micáh.

Martyna Mazurek was born in 1990 in Minsk Mazowiecki, Poland. At age 16, he discovered his passion for photography, an area in which he graduated from the European Academy of Photography in Warsaw.

He then entered the Warsaw University of Life Sciences to study Tourism and, in 2012, through the Erasmus programme, he discovered Faro, where he still lives.

Portuguese architecture caught his attention and began to capture, through its lens, details that often go unnoticed, such as tiles, doors or windows. It is also with these elements, which he photographed, that he produces handicraft items, also available at Sardinha de Papel.
