The Governor is accompanied by the Vice President of Infrastructures of Portugal

Pedro Marques, Minister of Planning and Infrastructure, visits, this Wednesday, 25 July, the «emergency works» on the EN125, in the section between Olhão and Vila Real de Santo António.

Pedro Marques' visit begins at 17:30 pm, leaving Olhão towards Tavira, a few meters after the Patinha roundabout, in front of the company Gresgarve, where the minister will be received by António Pina, mayor of Olhão.

The government official will be accompanied on this visit by José Serrano Gordo, vice president of Infraestruturas de Portugal.

This is followed by the presentation of the emergency works carried out on the EN125 and 124 by the Vice President of Infrastructures of Portugal (IP) José Serrano Gordo and Pedro Marques, Minister of Planning and Infrastructure.

In recent months, IP carried out a series of emergency interventions, not background works, on the section of the EN125 between Olhão and the limit of the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António, crossing the municipalities of Olhão, Tavira, Vila Real Santo António and Castro Marim, in an extension of about 38 kilometers.

The works include “works at pavement level, which involved, among others, milling and repaving, heightening of the shoulders and the execution of the horizontal marking of the lane”.

According to IP, the execution of this project, which started late, “ensures an important improvement in the conditions of comfort and safety for the population of the region, as well as for the thousands of tourists who seek the Algarve for the enjoyment of their holidays”.
