O restoration of Torre da Lapa, an old watchtower on the coast of Lagoa, was this Tuesday, July 10th, officially inaugurated, in an initiative of the local Chamber. Its process of classification as a monument of public interest is in progress.

Câmara de Lagoa produced a very interesting documentary of almost 23 minutes about the history and stories of Torre da Lapa, which the Sul Informação shows here.

The documentary, which also presents aspects of the building's conservation and restoration works, includes the testimonies of historian João Vasco Reis, archaeologist Ismael Medeiros and landscape architect José Fernando Vieira (both from the Câmara de Lagoa), as well as the former president of the Ferragudo Parish Council, Luís Alberto, and councilor Anabela Simão.

The video is also available on the Câmara de Lagoa page on Internet, together with the timelapse on the restoration work on the centuries-old Torre da Lapa.
