The presentation of the book «Faina Marítima» and the opening of the photography exhibition with the same name, integrated in the schedule of the Lagoa 2018 Photography Meetings, are scheduled for this Friday, 19 July, at 18 pm, at Parque Municipal do Sítio das Fontes, in Estômbar (Lagoa).
The book includes photographs by various authors, namely the Algarvean Filipe da Palma, José Carlos Carvalho (photo reporter for the magazine «Visão») and Luís Torres, with the theme of fishing in the Portuguese seas.
Os Meetings are promoted by the Câmara de Lagoa and the University of Algarve, curated by Nuno de Santos Loureiro.
The exhibition «Faina Marítima», at Sítio das Fontes, can be seen from Tuesday to Saturday, from 11 am to 13 pm and from 00 pm to 14 pm, always with free entry.
The launch of the book and the exhibition culminate the 2018 program of the Lagoa Photography Meetings, but there is still much more to see in various parts of the Algarve.
Thus, at the University of Algarve's Library of Gambelas, in Faro, is «A Espera», a set of fifteen photographs by Luís Torres. The exhibition can be seen until the end of July.
also in Faro, at Tertúlia Algarvia, continues the presentation of the documentary project «The Sardine Photo Experience». Until the 9th of August, it is possible to see ten photographs by José Carlos Carvalho.
In Lagoa, also in the Municipal Park of Sítio das Fontes, there is «Zona», a contemporary photography project. Based on the book edited by Nuno Moreira, the exhibition, on display at Sítio das Fontes until 29 July, shows photographs in three media: the book, framed photographs and multimedia. For visitors, it will be a complete immersion in a very special intimate project.
