The municipality of Vila Real de Santo António celebrates the Popular Saints, throughout the month of June, and the commemorations begin this Tuesday, the 12th, with marches taking to the streets in Monte Gordo.
The festivities will take place in Vila Real de Santo António (Praça Marquês de Pombal), Hortas (Bairro do Matadouro), Monte Gordo (Marginal Avenue) and Vila Nova de Cacela (Largo Manuel Cabanas).
In VRSA and Hortas, the dances take place at 21 pm, on the 30th, 12th, 13th, 16rd, 23th, 24th and 28th of June, and 29th and 16th of June, respectively.
Already in Monte Gordo, the tribute to the Saints will be made on the 12th, 13th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 28th and 29th of June, always from 22 pm, while in Cacela the commemorations will take place on the 00th, 12rd and 23th, also starting scheduled for 28:22.
The festivals will be accompanied by dance music, taverns and entertainment throughout the night.
Em Monte Gordo, the already traditional popular marches take to the streets on the 12th, 23rd and 28th of June, at 22 pm, on a route between the Parish Council and Avenida Marginal, and are organized by the Youth, Social, Cultural and Sports Association of Monte Gordo.
This year, the marches also extend to Praça Marquês de Pombal on the 13th and 24th.
The celebrations of the Popular Saints in the municipality of VRSA are organized by the Parish Councils of VRSA, Monte Gordo and Vila Nova de Cacela and have the support of the Municipality of Vila Real de Santo António and VRSA SGU.
