The future of Olhanense is still uncertain, but while the Algarve team is looking for new investors for SAD, it is preparing for the new football season… still with the last salary of last season in arrears.

Ao Sul Informação, Luís Torres, a member of the SAD of Olhanense, guaranteed that "it is working on preparing for the next season", after having registered for the Portuguese Championship on 12 June (the last day to do so).

"The search for investors does not make the project for the coming season unfeasible", not least because "there is support from the city itself", he guaranteed, in statements to our newspaper.

For now, the coach is insured. Ivo Soares, former coach of Armacenenses and Louletano, succeeds Nilton Terroso, the coach who finished last season (2017/2018) at the helm of Olhanense.

Players like Ivo Nicolau, Daniel Materazzi and Pedro Dias will not be included in the squad for next season, which, says Luís Torres, is "under construction" and will be announced "in due time".

It is certain that all players, except the loaned ones, still have their May salary in arrears, something that is trying to be «fixed». But for this payment to be made, it is important that new investors emerge for SAD.

Luigi Agnolin is still the chairman of SAD, but he has been seriously ill since the beginning of this year and, therefore, he is looking to find investors both in Italy and in Portugal.

In its 106 years of history, Olhanense is now living dark and unstable days. In just over four years, the Algarve emblem has moved from the XNUMXst League to the Portuguese Championship and faces serious cash flow problems.

Last season, after descending from the II League to the Portuguese Championship, the club still managed to stay in 3rd place, but next season the objective is to «ensure maintenance», concluded Luís Torres.
