List A announced today, in a statement, that it "will not participate" in the "continuation" of the elections for the governing bodies of the Clube Naval de Portimão, scheduled for tomorrow, June 2nd.

Last Saturday, May 26th, the chairman of the General Assembly, decided, at 16 pm, to suspend the electoral act that was taking place, alleging "serious irregularities". The ballot box was eventually placed in the custody of the Maritime Police, called to intervene by the elements of List B.

However, on the 29th, after a meeting between the president and vice-president of the Board of the General Assembly and representatives of the two lists competing for the elections for the Governing Bodies of the CNP, it was decided that the election would continue tomorrow, between 10 am and 13 pm.

The chairman of the General Assembly involved in all these decisions is José Casimiro, who was once again running for the same position, now on List A.

In its statement today, List A considers that "the legality and regularity of electoral procedures can only be ensured with the return of the floor to all members of Clube Naval de Portimão", through "new electoral notice to be sent by written to the partners, as prescribed in the General Internal Regulation
of the Club'.

List A states that this was the position he defended at the Board of the General Assembly, but that "it was not accepted". As for the scheduling of the «continuation» of the electoral act, this is a «situation with which List A cannot agree».

That list states that it took the decision not to participate in the elections after "consulting the overwhelming majority of List A candidates", having asked the chairman of the General Assembly Board to "make aware of this position to all members".

That list also stresses, in its statement, that, last Saturday, the elections were interrupted "in view of indications of non-compliance with legal, statutory and regulatory provisions», in what was a «difficult decision, with which we sympathize», of the chairman of the General Assembly.

Following the interruption, “the Public Prosecutor's Office was asked to investigate the situations that had occurred and, consequently, to investigate the validity of the Electoral Act of 26 May. That was formally given
knowledge to the Captaincy of the Port of Portimão, in the person of the Captain of the Port of Portimão», explains List A.
