A class from the 1st year of the 1st cycle school of the Padre António Martins de Oliveira de Lagoa group spent June 18th at the Zoomarine park, in Guia, as a prize for their creativity in the Carnival parade.

The children in this class won the “Best Carnival Costume 2018” award, given by Câmara de Lagoa, for having the costumes that best illustrated the theme “Magic Words”, chosen for this year.

«In addition to the great fun provided in a day well spent in this amusement park, the students got to know a little better the importance of biodiversity, through direct contact with animals and plants», according to Câmara de Lagoa.

Students also came into contact with “some aspects related to sustainability and the growing importance of preserving the environment”.

The Carnival Creativity Contest was launched by Câmara de Lagoa as part of the Lagoa Cidade Educadora program and «intends to show that playing we can also learn».
