The Chamber of Faro was, this Wednesday, the target of searches, in the scope of the so-called “Operation Tutti Frutti”.

Operation Tutti Frutti, launched this Wednesday at the national level, included around 70 searches of municipalities, PSD and PS facilities, companies, lawyers' offices and private homes.

According to the Lisbon District Attorney General, which is directing the process, the searches were carried out in the «in the context of an inquiry investigating crimes of passive corruption, influence peddling, economic participation in business and prohibited financing».

According to "the strong evidence gathered, it was found, in essence, that a group of individuals linked to political party structures, developed influences among themselves aimed at achieving the signing of public contracts, including agreements with natural persons and other strategic positions", he adds. the Attorney's Office.

O Jornal de Notícias said that, in addition to the Chamber of Faro, the cameras in Vila Nova de Gaia, Santa Maria da Feira, Esposende, Vila Nova de Famalicão, Oeiras, Cascais, Loures, Lisbon and Ponta Delgada were searched.
