The Conceição de Faro will advance and the execution contract has just been signed between the City Council and the contractor.

In a statement, the Chamber announces the "awarding of an important intervention in the Parish of Conceição and Estoi."

It is, then, the new Polisportivo da Conceição de Faro, whose execution contract was signed with “Sociedade Martins Gago & Filhos, Lda”, for the total amount of around 269 thousand euros, plus VAT at the legal rate in force.

The multi-sport will be located in the municipal allotment of Conceição de Faro, in an equipment area, now used for car parking.

«The works awarded involve the architectural design, execution, water supply, water drainage, landscaping and electricity», explains the municipality of Faro.

The construction of a building to the east of the multi-sport is also contemplated, which will house the changing rooms, divided into five different areas - two for teams or athletes involved in the game or training, another for refereeing teams, a public use sanitary installation prepared for people with reduced mobility and also a specific area for storage and storage.

The floor of the enclosure will be in acrylic resin with marking of the game lines, destined for indoor football, handball, volleyball and basketball – and others that will be considered, within the scope of the municipal sports project.

Lighting is also planned, through LED projectors, which will be placed on four posts 8 meters high, with power and direction compatible with the needs required for potential sporting events.

For the Municipality, «the construction of this equipment fully responds to the old and fair demands of the local population, who longed for another solution that would allow them to practice sports in conditions of comfort and safety».

On the other hand, «the new multi-sport is part of a strategy assumed in this mandate, to seek to secure and attract more young people to our municipality and, in particular, to the so-called “rural parishes” of Faro».
