Silves will once again have a “Mercado Fora d'Horas” on June 13th, July 11th and August 8th. The Municipal Market of Silves is once again the stage for the «most creative producers' market in the country», which, according to the Municipality of Silves, appears «renovated» in 2018.

Over the next three months, once a month, local producers will be at the municipal market at night, between 19:00 pm and 00:00 am, where, in addition to local products, there will be thematic exhibition, craft market, games about local production, moments related to gastronomy, music and street entertainment.

In 2018, the plant cycle will be in focus: the flower, the fruit and the seed. On June 13th, there is a flower market. On July 11th, the fruit will be in focus, with a session at the Summer University of Inloco and a fooddesign demonstration. On August 8th there will be a seed exchange.

This is a «gastronomic event about local culture», which aims to «raise awareness of the advantages of local products, involving the community related to the market».

“Mercado Fora d'Horas”, which is going to its 3rd edition, was born from a community design project, “which favors the market atmosphere being transfigured” for one night, to mix “traditional values with contemporaneity”.

«The focus of the message that we intend to pass on to visitors are food traditions, conviviality, local culture and proximity products, presenting the Municipal Market of Silves as a space of convergence between rural and urban, community and local public celebration of Algarve food», summarized the Silves Chamber.

Admission is free.
