O Stew and Sea Festival takes place from the 8th to the 10th of June, in Armação de Pêra, municipality of Silves.
The event counts with the participation of 15 local restaurants that will present several suggestions related to the fish stew and the flavors of the sea.
A Grelha, A Lota, Balbino, Casa d'Avó, Coriander, Estrela do Mar, Novo Almadrava, Hera, O Casarão, O Fernando, O Silvense, Olivalmar, Pôr-do-sol (at the Holiday Inn Hotel), Rocha da Palha and Vista Mar are the participating establishments of this edition.
The gastronomic aspect is also joined by the entertainment with Junior Satisfaction, Catapum Produções, Grupo Amigos da Pedreira, STAM and the Duo Luís Barradinhas and António Rola, who will act both in the restaurants and on the streets of the village, within the opening hours of the festival that will run from 12:30 pm to 15:30 pm and from 19:30 pm to 22:30 pm.
According to Rosa Palma, mayor of Silves, in this Festival «we pay homage to the sea, we revisit traditions, the work of fishermen, brave men who bring us unique delicacies, restaurants and chefs who give a unique color to the gastronomic wealth of the village. », intending through its realization «to fill the streets of this fishing village with life and animation, stimulating and promoting the local economy».
The Festival's public presentation session will take place next Saturday, June 2nd, at 10:30 am, in the Municipal Market of Armação de Pêra. The initiative will feature the presence of chefs from the participating restaurants for a display of the dishes to be prepared during the event, accompanied by the producers of Wines from Silves, who will also exhibit and make known their products.

The Caldeirada e do Mar Festival, promoted by the City Council of Silves, has the support of the Algarve Tourism Region, the Parish Council of Armação de Pêra, the Algarve Wine Route and the Silves Sul Schools Group.
