The application for mobile devices (mobile phones and tablets) “Descubra Odemira” was awarded the prize for “Best Communication Technology” in the Alentejo Tourism and Ribatejo 2017 Awards, awarded by the Alentejo and Ribatejo Regional Tourism Authority.
The ceremony took place on the 6th of May, at the Montargil Cultural Center, in Ponte de Sor. The award was presented to the vice-president of the Municipality of Odemira and responsible for the area of Economic Development, Ricardo Cardoso.
The Discover Odemira App provides a set of simple tools that quickly and intuitively help tourists to explore the region they are visiting. Tourists can access information about the territory, restaurants, accommodation, agenda, what to do, an interactive map and an image gallery.
ERT also awarded the prize for “Best Local Accommodation” to the Herdade da Amália tourist unit, managed by the Amália Rodrigues Foundation.
The Alentejo Tourism Awards aim to distinguish and publicize projects of significant tourist importance that have contributed to improving the destination's tourism offer and strengthening the sector's competitiveness in the region.
