The National Championship of Hopes I, in the canoeing modality, takes place again in Alcoutim, on the 20th of May.
This competition of the national calendar 2018, scheduled to start at 10:30 am, will take place on the Guadiana River and will feature around 500 athletes, between 8 and 16 years old, from around 50 clubs from north to south of the country.
The event is organized by Grupo Desportivo de Alcoutim (GDA), in collaboration with the Portuguese Canoeing Federation and the Algarve Regional Canoeing Association, and has the support of the Municipality of Alcoutim.
Given the incentive it constitutes for the practice of sports, as well as the success of the event in previous years, bringing hundreds of athletes and visitors to Alcoutim, the Municipality of Alcoutim will allocate to the GDA a financial contribution in the amount of 10 thousand euros, to cover the expenses inherent to the exam.
