OPTO, «one of the largest education and training forums in the country», will return to the Albufeira Sports Pavilion, between 9 and 11 May, with the presence of 60 exhibitors, including public and private education entities, polytechnics, universities of all over the country, companies and training centers.
The OPTO program is closed and, according to the Albufeira Council, «everything is ready to host another edition, the 6th, of the most awaited event at a time of year when young people are faced with the task, not even always easy, to decide your academic or professional future».
Throughout the event, anyone passing by the Albufeira Sports Pavilion, «will have access to updated information on the various educational and training alternatives available in the national education system (secondary, vocational and higher education), experiences abroad, as well as the possibility of establish a first contact with professionals from different areas and organizations», explains the municipality of Albufeirense.
The program includes workshops, conferences, presentation of experiences, culinary demonstrations (cuisine and pastries, regional sweets, healthy desserts and smoothies, healthy snacks and detox juices, cocktails and crepes, tasting of regional products, Mediterranean diet, World cuisine ) and a wide range of animation proposals inside and outside the venue.
On the stage installed inside the Pavilion, the animation, mainly performed by students from the participating schools, will be a constant. According to the Municipality of Albufeira, «over the three days, various musical moments are programmed, fitness, zumba and theater classes, film presentations, among other cultural and artistic events».
Outside the enclosure, there will be a scale wall and rappel, demonstrations of skateboarding, parkour, golf or orienteering courses. At the end of the more or less radical activities, the organization invites you to participate in an "Experience in Movement", as part of the activity
OPTO Science and the traditional Game of Glory.
The Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Albufeira is once again present at the OPTO and will teach the rules of road safety. The program of activities outside the Pavilion also includes the exhibition of horses from the National Republican Guard and cinotechnical demonstrations by the Public Security Police.
To facilitate the transport of young people, there are special discounts for group travel on CP trains to and from Albufeira, on all lines, and GIRO urban buses are free throughout the city, as well as between Ferreiras Station and the Sports Hall.
The event can be visited on May 9th and 10th, between 9:30 am and 17:30 pm, and on the last day (May 11th), from 9:30 am to 13:00 pm.
The OPTO is a joint organization of the Municipality of Albufeira, the General Directorate of School Establishments-Services Directorate of the Algarve Region (DGEstE) and the Employment and Vocational Training Institute (IEFP) and has the collaboration of the county's three School Groups .
